Do the Democrats in VA Support Foreign Terrorist Organizations?
The title for this post may seem sensational, but you’ll learn why it is a legitimate question we should ask ourselves. Before we start, we’d like to acknowledge that war is terrible. For the sake of the innocent Ukrainians, we hope this conflict ends as quickly as possible.
Many people may not be familiar with Ukraine’s Azov Battalion so we’ll try to explain what it is for context. The Azov Battalion was initially formed as a Ukrainian volunteer militia in May 2014 to fight pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine. This group has since been officially incorporated into Ukraine’s military and is under the control of Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs. The Azov Battalion has ties to Nazism as many of its members can be seen with Swastikas and other Nazi symbols as tattoos or on their uniforms, as reported by NBC News in 2014.
So, what does the Azov Battalion have to do with Democrats in Virginia? After a shooting in Halle, Germany in October 2019, then Rep Max Rose (D-NY), wrote a letter to then Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, asking why organizations like the Azov Battalion were not included on the US’ Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) list. This letter was signed by 40 members of Congress, including Rep Gerald E. Connolly (VA-11), Rep Elaine G. Luria (VA-2), and Rep Abigail Spanberger (VA-7).
So, in 2019, Rep Connolly, Rep Luria, and Rep Spanberger were all aware that the Azov Battalion openly welcomed neo-Nazis into its ranks and that the United Nations had documented human rights abuses and incidents of torture in the group’s short history. They also knew that the Azov Battalion had been recruiting, radicalizing, and training American citizens for years, according to the FBI. Despite all this knowledge, they all voted in favor of H.R.7691 – Additional Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2022 providing $40.1 billion dollars in funding in support of Ukraine with no strings attached. What assurances do we have that our tax dollars will not be used by the Azov Battalion to continue recruiting, radicalizing, and training American citizens in their hateful ideology? How is it possible that the Biden regime couldn’t have at least asked Ukraine to denounce Nazism and to remove the Azov Battalion from their military ranks?
In May 2022, a mentally ill individual committed a heinous crime in Buffalo, NY. According to the news, he was a white supremacist. In a speech shortly after the attack, Biden urged all Americans to reject the ‘poison’ of white supremacy. That’s rich coming from the guy who is supporting a government that knowingly has white supremacists in it’s ranks. It’s time for change in Washington D.C. This November, let’s make sure these dishonest politicians don’t get another opportunity to continue spreading this hateful ideology throughout the world.
